Managing Resources

Overview

Resources let you schedule shared physical assets — treatment rooms, chairs, equipment, beds, tables — right alongside your staff, so you never double-book a room the same way you'd never double-book a stylist. Find this under Business Settings → Resources.

Setting up resource types and resources

  • First, create a Resource Type — a category like "Treatment Room" or "Massage Bed" — with a name, description, and an icon (choose from Room, Chair, Equipment, Bed, Table, Vehicle, Desk, or Screen).

  • Inside a type, add the actual Resources — individual instances like "Room 1" or "Room 2." Each has a name, description, a Capacity (how many simultaneous uses it supports, minimum 1), a Calendar Color for telling it apart at a glance, and the branch it belongs to.

  • To create several identical resources at once, set a Count when adding one, and WAJ creates the whole batch automatically, numbered in sequence.

  • Deleting a resource type deletes every resource inside it too, so you'll be warned before confirming.

Assigning resources to services

Open a service and go to its Resource Requirements section to pick which resource type(s) it needs and how many of each. You choose the type only (for example, "1 Massage Bed") — WAJ assigns an available resource of that type automatically when the appointment is booked. This section only appears once you've created at least one resource type.

Using resources on the calendar

Once resource allocation is turned on for your business, the calendar's Staff / Resources toggle lets you switch from staff columns to resource columns, so you can see room and equipment bookings at a glance, in the colors you've set for each one. You can block time on a resource the same way you block time for staff.
